Shri Murlidhar Balvant Pendake, a Vidarbhian follower of Shri Lokmanya Tilak was considered as a veteran revolutionist. He was born in 1894 at Amravati. He completed the primary and middle school education in Amravati . From school days his interest was towards exercises and outdoor games.At that time Shri Jayram Patil was famous in manly games and exercises. Shri Patil was a follower of Lokmanya Tilak. Pendake acquired Indian exercise/sports knowledge from patil Seeing the skills he had acquired in games like ‘Lathi-Kathi’ in 1907, the team which had gone in Surat Congress in the year 1907 under the able guidence of Vidarbhian followers of Lokamanya Tilak like Jayram Patil, Shyamrao Deshpande, etc. Pendake was also included in it. Differences in opinion between mild and aggressive growth event to peak and fight situation arose at that time to save Lokamanya Tilak, the efforts of these volunteers proved to be responsible.

For acquiring skills in Dand-Patta, Sword, Gadgafari, Malkhamb he received the guidence of Bhide guruji of Satara. After some years he came in contact with Vaidya brothers and their bond of friendship was deepen, because of their similarities of interest in exercise and disinterest of publicity. He is considered as one of the institute’s founder member as his help to founder members in the progress of Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal was of most importance. He was one of the magnificient player of Mandal. The khadga (a type of sword) war of Shri Pendake and Shri Ambadaspant Vaidya became famous in Amravati.
