Vidyaratna Dr. Shidhnath Krushna Kane was born at Yavatmal in the year 1886. As a student Dr. Kane stayed at Amravati for his school education. During his school days, he used to participate in various educational activities. In those years, then social political conditions made effects on young Kane and he demonstrated his patriotic behavior, due to which he was rusticated from the school. Later on he completed his education from private patriotic school and seeks admission in National Medical College at Calcutta and he successfully achieved the degree of LMNS.

During his medical studies at Calcutta his patriotic spirit disallowed him to sit idle and he joined the revolutionary group in Bengal. Not only that but also he got membership of “Yugantar Revolutionary Organization” runned by VarindraKumar Ghosh. In period of 1905-1907 he achieved faith of Bengali revolutionist Khudiram Bose. Khudiram Bose was famous among Indian revolutionists, because in India for first time he did bomb blast and gave a big shock to British Empire. Dr. Kane was an active member of the bomb blast conspiracy. After bomb blast he got underground and was living in same situation for some days. Then he settle down at Yavatmal and started his medical practice. His contribution in this conspiracy till the end was kept secret.

While at Yavatmal he createed his social relations with institutes and organizations in Vidharbha region. He developed strong relationship with H.V.P.Mandal through Veer Vamanrao Joshi and Vaidya brothers. He represented group of 27 players at Berlin Olympic (Pedagogic Congress) in year 1936. From period 1933 – 1938 he was a Vice President of H.V.P. Mandal. In 1917 he established Hanuman Akhada at Yavatmal and he devoted his many years to this Akhada along with his medical practice. In the year1956, at the age of 70, he passed away.
