There are certain families in Amravati which have unbreakable bonds with the Mandal and which send their children to the Mandal right from their infancy. The Ganorkar family is one of them. Dr. Ganorkar’s father Mr. Wasudeorao Ganorkar was the student member of the Mandal right from his childhood. He was cashier of the Mandal for many years. Dr. Ganokar has been brought up in the atmosphere and premises of the Mandal. He always accompanies the Mandal Trips in Various States. It is a Pleasure to recall that the drill-demonstrations were led by him on Mandal’s Kashmir Trip.
After securing his M.D. Dr. Ganorkar started his practice at Amravati. The Mandal could avail of this chance for its purpose. The Mandal has started a Research Centre. The Central Govt. has sanctioned the grant of Rs. 1800/- for this Research Center. The Research centre wsa functioning under the guidance of Dr. Ganorkar. For the expansion of this Research Centre the Mandal decided to send Dr. Ganorkar to Rome-Italy for further training at F.I.M.S. Centre. The Mandal succeeded in securing the grant from the Maharastra Govt. as well as from the Italian Govt. Dr. Ganorkar was sent to Rome for six months to acquaint himself with the latest Research in Sports Medicine. Recently he has returned after due completion of his training. The Mandal will definitely be benefited by his knowledge.
