The Centenary celebration of HVPM was earmarked with grand events starting from the year 2012, the Global Conference was one such marquee event celebrating 10 successful decades from 1914 to 2014. The Global Conference on Traditional Physical Cultures, Sports, and Games (GCTPCS & G) was held on 15-17 January 2013 at Amravati — a small town in the State of Maharashtra India. The Three-day conferences had delegates from 28 different countries covering all the five continents of the globe. About 250 delegates from 20 different States of India representing various Universities, Cultural Centres, Sports Organizations, Training Colleges of Physical Education, and members of different faculties have attended the Conference. Program schedule included: Scientific Session, Physical Display, Cultural Nights, and Exhibition. More than 130 papers and posters were read and presented in the scientific sessions. Physical displays of traditional sports and games and Indian traditional dance forms were presented in the Cultural Nights. The sports persons and artists of different States received great appreciation and admiration from the spectators. Exhibition of ancient stone panels depicting sports of India, pictures, and paintings, especially those painted by the Foot and Mouth Artists, photo gallery of H.V.P Mandal depicting 100 years history, the flower show of local Club, Laser Show and exhibition of Engineering in Sports, models and gadgets organised by H.V.P.M’s College of Engineering & Technology

proved a place of attraction. The Postal Stamp collection and rare Coins exhibition arranged by Amravati Philatelic Association, Colorful Rangoli designs sketched by local artists are worth a mention and attracted the attention of a large number of local people. It is estimated that about 50,000 people have visited the campus that was beautifully decorated and lighted. Millions of people have viewed the Conference on TV Channels and through local newspapers. The inauguration ceremony of this historic event was held on Tuesday the 15th of January 2013. Ms. Pratibha Devising Patil former President of India presided over the function, whereas the Governor of Tripura State declared the Centenary Year open. Prof. Dr. Margaret Talbot from U.K- President of ICSSPE declared the Conference open amidst big cheers.
Other eminent dignitaries on the stage were Ms. Marina Faetnini, Head Social & Human Science Sector at UNESCO New Delhi office, Maharashtra State Agriculture Minister, Mr. Wolfgang Baumann (Germany) Secretary-General TAFISA, Mr. Detlef Dumon (Germany) Secretary-General ICSSPE, Prof. Dr.Tansin Ben President IAPESGW (U.K.), local Member of Indian Parliament, local Members of Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra, Mayor of Amravati Corporation among others. The Conference was hosted by Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal – the premier Institute of physical education and traditional sports and games that is completing 100 years of successful functioning in TPCSG and the event was patronized by TAFISA, ICSSPE, IAPESGW, FIEP, ITSGA, ISHPES and conducted under the auspices of National Association of Physical Education and Sports (NAPES-INDIA). UNESCO’s Cluster Office, Delhi approved and recognized the event. Political clearance was granted by the government of India. This Conference had the honor to have the collaboration of UGC, AIU (Association of Indian University, New Delhi) S.G.B.Amravati University, Amravati, South Central Zone Cultural Centre Nagpur, RSTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, and Degree College of Physical Education, Amravati.
